Notch Above Tours, Inc. is a Vermont-based, locally owned group or packaged tour business. Our philosophy, we believe, is simple and sincere:

What Do We Do?

We offer tours ranging in length from one-day to several days throughout the United States and Canada. Our goal is to personalize group travel. We measure our success by the enjoyment, appreciation and learning experienced by our travelers, not by the number of folks we can squeeze on a coach. Greater personalized attention, more flexibility and more opportunities to explore new destinations are some advantages of a smaller group. We understand that our success is directly attributable to the satisfaction of our travelers.

Many of our tours are thematic in nature, focusing on events, performances, historical and cultural sites and a variety of other topics. In any given year they may include classical or country music, art and special exhibitions, NASCAR, baseball road trips, garden tours, Civil War tours, holiday tours and many more. We often have expert presenters on board who provide information about the tour topic and are available to answer questions and chat throughout the tour. What Is Our “Legitimacy”?

Choosing a tour company is an important decision. You are entrusting your valuable time and money with a company about which you may know very little. All tour companies are not the same! Listings in the yellow pages or ads in local papers do nothing to verify businesses’ stability, credibility, or legitimacy. We encourage you to take a few minutes to do some research to avoid scams and protect your investment in travel. Incorporated in 1993, Notch Above is fully insured. All our travelers’ pre-payments are deposited in a Union Bank escrow account. We have been selected for membership in the prestigious National Tour Association and the Better Business Bureau. We are also members of the American Bus Association, Vermont State Chamber of Commerce, Vermont Tourism Network, Vermont Convention Bureau, the International Airlines Travel Agent Network and local Chambers. We are incorporated in the State of Vermont and are an S-Corporation (Federal ID #03-0338391).

With Whom Will I Be Traveling?

All our tours are accompanied by a Notch Above Tour Manager. We are fortunate to have a small group of very dedicated Tour Managers who are committed to “going the extra mile” to assure a memorable and carefree tour for you. Our Tour Managers tend to be recently retired educators, business managers and travel professionals. They are our “front line” employees and are with you throughout the tour to take care of logistics and help you in any way possible.

What Else Does Notch Above Do?

Our sole business is the group tour/packaged travel business. In addition to tours for individuals, we also plan tours for groups from other parts of the country or world visiting New England and Eastern Canada. Many school groups use Notch Above to plan their class trips.
